How can I get a blade cover?

Travel blade covers can be purchased from the product page for $1 each; https://www.harrys.com/products/travel-blade-cover

It’s worth mentioning that you’ll get free shipping on any order that’s over $10 in the United States. Otherwise, there’s a $3 shipping charge. We recommend adding one to your next blade order!

 

What's the difference between a Truman and a Winston?

The main difference between the Truman and the Winston are in their material and weight. Just to clear up any confusion: they both use the same blade and provide the same great shave.

The Winston is made from lightweight aluminum, similar to that which is used in modern aircraft, and then coated with chrome, while the Truman is made from zinc alloy, coated with colored polymer, and then lacquered. But despite the lightweight aluminum core, the Winston is still a bit heavier than the Truman. Both razors are designed to optimize performance and control for their given weight. As for the actual weight, the Truman’s weight (without a cartridge) is 1.35 ounces and the Winston’s weight (without a cartridge) is 1.73 ounces.

How long will my order take to arrive?

We partner with the United States Postal Service, Canada Post, and the major parcel carriers to get your shaving products to you quickly. That typically takes about 5 business days from when you order, and you can always track it by visiting your Harry’s profile, or using the Shipping Confirmation email that we send as soon as your order heads out into the world. For our friends up north in Canada, shipping may take longer. Depending on your location, we estimate 3-12 business days for delivery.

While we work hard to ensure that everyone gets their order quickly, friends in Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. Territories may experience shipping delays of up to a 4 weeks.

What's the best way to use your Shave Cream?

We always recommend taking a nice, long shower before shaving — or at least rinsing your face well with warm water. This helps to hydrate your whiskers and soften them up before you get to shaving. 

Once your skin and hair are prepared, apply a thin layer of our moisturizing shave cream. The amount needed may vary depending on how much stubble you have accumulated, but a dollop the size of a half-inch thick Quarter would be a good place to start. Then, spend 15-20 seconds massaging the cream into all the nooks and crannies of your face and neck, pick up your favorite Harry’s razor, and get to shaving.

How often should I change my blades?

Due to their fine steel and precision grinding, our blades are incredibly durable. Our German partners attest that they will perform well for long, long periods of time. Of course, because Harry’s blades also happen to be affordable, we couldn’t blame you for wanting to indulge in the luxury of changing them a little more frequently. Many guys tell us that they like to change their blades every 6-8 shaves. Whether you change blades every day or every month, we’re here to help talk you through it. How many blades are in your cartridges?

Each cartridge contains 5 evenly spaced, German-engineered razor blades.

How do I remove the blade cartridge from my handle?

Hold the handle with one hand, with the Harry’s logo facing you. With your other hand, take your thumb and put it just underneath the ridge on the plastic connector piece at the top of the handle (the ridge should be just above a few small, horizontal lines). Your thumb should be under that ridge, and your forefinger should be on the reverse side of that connector.

Now, while holding the handle in place with the first hand, you should be able to use your thumb to slide the connector piece away from the handle with the other hand, releasing the cartridge in the process.

Why does my order have a $6 shipping fee?

You must be one of our Canadian friends! We contribute equally to your shipping costs on all orders, regardless of the transportation mode or location. In some cases – like sending orders via Economy in the US – this means shipping will be free. For orders in Canada, the costs are significantly higher, leaving a remainder of $6 after our contribution is applied.

We want you to know that the $6 fee only applies to shipping and will never go above $6 regardless of order size (unless you select an expedited option). We’re committed to making sure you get your Harry’s on time and we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the process so that we can deliver the best experience possible.

Do you offer free shipping?

Within the United States, we offer free shipping on any order over $10. In Canada, we do not offer free shipping. Our standard economy option costs $6, but we’re hoping to offer lower shipping costs to Canada in the future.

What is your return policy?

We love the products we’ve made, and we think you will too. If, after 5-8 shaves, you find that you’re unhappy for any reason, just let us know so that we can help you return your products within 30 days of receipt for a full refund. 

Do you offer free shipping?

How long will it take to ship to Alaska, Hawaii and the US Territories -- can I expedite shipping?

Can I send a gift from Harry's to my friends?

The fact that you’re asking this question likely means that you’re an exceptionally caring and classy person. You can (and should) send Harry’s as a gift to your friends and loved ones. We’ve tried to make your gift more special by letting you add a personalized note with your Harry’s gift, and shipping it in a protective bag to make it as presentable as possible. Just be sure to add a new shipping address at checkout — unless you wanted to gift it to yourself, that is. You’ll need to place individual orders if more than one shipping address is required.

I need my order fast! Can I pay for expedited shipping?

If for any reason you need to receive your order in fewer than 5 business days, you can expedite the processing of your order for an additional fee. In the US you may pay $8 for 3-4 day shipping, $12 for two-day shipping, and $20 for next-day shipping. In Canada, you may pay $16 for our ground shipping method of 1-5 days. Unfortunately, we are unable to expedite shipping to our beloved Alaska, Hawaii and US territories customers. Shipping will take approximately 4-6 weeks.

Help! There’s an issue with my Engraved Winston. What do I do?

We engrave your initials on the back of the handle, opposite our logo, so if you think your Engraved Winston arrived with no engraving, check to see that they aren’t just hiding back there. Still nothing? No problem. You can reach us at help@harrys.com, (888) 212.6855 or tweet @harryshelp.

Are there more shipping options available for products containing Foaming Shave Gel?

The reason you do not have the option for our 1-day or 2-day shipping is that your order contains Foaming Shave Gel. Per airline restrictions, Foaming Shave Gel cannot travel by air due to the combustible nature of aerosol canisters. If you really need your order fast, we suggest switching your order to include Shave Cream instead, which can definitely fly first-class and arrive speedily at your door.

I haven’t received my package. What should I do?

Most packages shipped with our economy option are delivered by your local postal worker. We’ve found that, more often than not, the package is either in the building or with a neighbor. Please take a look around and let us know if you find it. If you haven’t located your order, just send us an email at help@harrys.com or call us at (888) 212.6855 from 10am-6pm ET any day of the week, and we’ll take care of you. 

How do I change or cancel my order?

We try to fill and send your order as quickly as possible, which may limit our ability to add items to your order or prevent a package from shipping. I'm having trouble accessing the site. What should I do?

First, check to see what browser you’re using. If you’re using an outdated version, like Internet Explorer 6 or 7, try upgrading, or use a different browser altogether, like Firefox or Google Chrome. 

Alternatively, if you have a smartphone, you can visit our mobile site, which is optimized for easy razor purchases on the go.

How long will it take for my Engraved Winston or Razor Stand to arrive?

It can take an extra day or two for the engraving process, so ground shipping in the US may take up to 6 business days, two-day shipping could take 4 business days, and next-day air up to 3 days. For our friends in Canada, economy shipping may take 6-15 days, while ground shipping may take 4-8 days. Having said that, we try to ship packages as close to same day as we can, so these are just the most conservative estimates.

Can I use Harry's to shave my head?

Our razors are designed with your face in mind, and shaving your head is different from shaving your face. So, here are some tips for head shaving: Pull your skin tight with one hand. Do I have to use both your razor and your gel or cream?

Of course not. Our razors, Foaming Shave Gel and Shave Cream were developed to work as great, standalone products, regardless of whether or not you use them together. That said, it never hurts to put great tires on a fast car. We’ll leave it to you from here.

Do your cartridges come with a single blade on the back for trimming?

Due to the angle of the blades and the flexible hinge of the cartridge, our razor allows for easy maneuverability as it navigates the contours of your face. While our cartridges don’t come with a blade on the back for trimming and edging your beard, they were designed with shaping and styling your facial hair in mind.

Do your blades contain nickel?

The steel used in our blades contains a trace amount of nickel, between 0.10% and 0.15%.

What's the difference between your Foaming Shave Gel and Shave Cream?

The choice between Foaming Shave Gel and Shave Cream is one of preference. Where are your products made?

We looked all over the world to find great razors for you. Deep in the heart of Germany, we found a company that has been making blades for over 90 years. We buy some of the best steel Sweden has to offer, and then we forge your blades in Germany in a small town near Stuttgart. Seriously.

Our handles were designed in close partnership with a really talented industrial design firm right here in New York City. Then, we found an outstanding manufacturing partner near Hong Kong who was able to bring our vision to life. We spent a lot of time thinking about the ergonomics, weight, and texture of your handle.

As for the Shave Cream, Foaming Shave Gel and After Shave Moisturizer, we teamed up with Mark & Jeff, talented chemists from just outside New York, to develop formulas just for Harry’s. Our blend of natural ingredients provides comfort during the shave & soothes the skin after your shave.

Do you test any of your products on animals?

We do not perform animal testing on any of our products, and that will never change. Some of us here in the office admittedly like to test new products on ourselves from time to time, but we promise we do that by choice!

How do Shave Plans work?

If you find yourself reminiscing about past orders — staring dreamily at your Harry’s Profile page and remembering how much fun it was to receive that fresh pack of blades and new can of Foaming Gel — you can create a recurring Shave Plan for all you Harry’s product needs.

Check out https://www.harrys.com/auto-refill to get more information about your options.  You can go through our Shave Plan flow to decide what products you want to receive and how often you want to receive them.

Can I cancel my Shave Plan?

Yes, you can cancel your Shave Plan at any time. We’ll miss you, but canceling your Shave Plan is easy: you can email us at help@harrys.com, or give us a call at 888-212-6855, 7-days a week, from 10AM-6PM ET. You can also modify your plan at harrys.com/profile.

There’s no cancellation fee. Just let us know the email address you used for your account, and we will take care of that for you right away. And if you’ve got any feedback for us as to why you want to cancel your plan, we’d also love to hear it, too!

What if I go on vacation?

Well, first, congrats — we’re sure you earned the time off, so enjoy it. In the meantime, visit your Profile, where you’ll see your Shaving Plan. You can modify your replacement schedule easily, and place it on Hold as long as you like. You can also modify your plan at www.harrys.com/profile.

When do you ship my Shave Plan?

We ship your replacement blades at whatever monthly interval you’d like. You can always check this in your Profile by heading to www.harrys.com/profile. If you want to change the day that an upcoming shipment is scheduled to head your way, just send an email to help@harrys.com or give us a call at (888) 212.6855.

Does my Shave Plan have to include both blades and gel?

Shave plans are easily customizable, and are not required to include any gel or cream. Just go to the Shave Plan page, and then after selecting how often you shave, you will see the “Blades Only Plan” option. 

There is also  “Customize your own Shave Plan" option on the top left of this section. There, you’ll see a sentence that says “Send me 8 blades and 2 gel every 2 months.” If you click any of those variables, a drop-down will appear from which you can choose any quantity or frequency you’d like, including “zero” for gel.

Does my first Shave Plan order come with a handle?

When you sign up for one of our recurring Shave Plans, we know you’ll need a handle to get started. That’s why we’ve recently started including a Truman Handle in the color of your choice with your first shipment. As a bonus, the handle is free!

Already a Harry’s customer but just getting a Shave Plan for the first time? Don’t worry, you’ll get one free handle too! You can keep it as a back up or pass it along to a friend or family member who might like a great shave.

Do I need to sign up for a Shave Plan?

In short; not if you don’t want to — no membership or contracts here. The Shave Plans are very convenient and can be changed or cancelled at anytime; that way you get what you want, when you want.  If that’s just not your thing, you can always order a set or replacements on your own time by visiting our product page.

What happens if I move?

Easy enough… just visit your Profile, where you can change your shipping information accordingly. Once you do, send us an email at help@harrys.com or call us at 888.212.6855. We’ll get your new address attached to your Shave Plan and get it send to you straight away!

PAYMENT QUESTIONS

There is a $1 charge on my bank statement - what’s that about?

Awesome question! Don’t worry, that $1 is merely a holding charge. As soon as your order is shipped out, you will be charged for exactly the total of your order, and that $1 will drop off immediately. It’s just your bank talking to our bank saying ‘Yup, this is a valid account.’ 

I have a new credit card, how can I update my information on file?

Great question! If you have a Shave Plan set up, this is especially important. If you go to harrys.com/profile, you will have access to all of your account details. Once on this page, you can go ahead and delete that old credit card that we have on file, and then add the new one right away.

If you have a Shave Plan, let us know by contacting help@harrys.com when you add the new card and we’ll get it applied to your recurring orders! Updating your information in this way will ensure that we are able to continue sending our your automatic shipments.

How do I use my redemption code?

First, that’s so cool that you have one! You’ll need to first need to go to harrys.com/redeem and enter your coupon code. Once you do so, you should see those items that the code is valid for pop up into your cart — please note that the order total will be $0.00.

If for any reason this process does not work, try adding those same items (that the coupon code is valid for) to your cart, proceed through checkout, and click the “Apply Coupon Code” link on the Payment Details screen. Entering in your code will then apply the discount.

Your coupon code is good to go for 90 days (unless otherwise noted) after it was first generated.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. And we rarely turn down homemade cookies. However, we do not accept PayPal or pre-paid cards at this time. 

When do you charge my credit or debit card?

We wait to charge your card until the moment that your package gets shipped out to you. This gives you a window of opportunity to modify your order in any way necessary before you are officially charged for it. Typically, your order will get shipped out within 12 hours from the time that your order was placed — and the charge will go through at that time.

Why won't my coupon code work?

First, that’s awesome that you have one! You’ll need to first add the item that the code is for to your cart, along with any other items you want to purchase. Then, proceed through checkout and click the “Apply Coupon Code” link on the Payment Details screen. Entering in your code will then apply the discount.

That’s the important part: you have to put the specific item that the code is for into your cart for the coupon code to work. If you continue to have issues, give our team a call at 888.212.6855 and we’ll get you squared away.

Where do I enter my promo code?

Awesome, love promo codes! First, add the item that the code is valid for to your cart, along with any other items you want to purchase. Then, proceed into the checkout process. Just to the right of where it asks for your shipping address, you’ll see a link that says “Apply Coupon Code.” Click on that, pop in the code and you’re all set!

If you’re on a mobile device, proceed through checkout past Shipping Address and Payment Details screen. After you’ve selected or added the credit card that you’ll be using, you can click the “Apply Coupon Code” link and enter the code there.

Just as a heads up, these codes are generally only valid for first-time customers. So if the code doesn’t work for you, it’s just because you are extra special to us — and are likely to receive even cooler savings and benefits down the line.

Is your website secure?

We take security super seriously and absolutely have an https designation, which should be indicated in the URL you see when you visit harrys.com. If you’re not seeing the “s” in your browser, try clearing your cookies, deactivating any pop-up blockers, or opening a new window in incognito mode. You should also see a small lock icon next to the URL which indicates a secure site as well.

Our credit card system is 100% safe and secure and your information will not by any means be provided to a third party. You can feel confident that your information is in good hands!

Can I use an international credit card if I'm shipping to a US or Canadian address?

We can definitely help you with that. Simply contact the Harry’s Customer Experience Team at help@harrys.com and we’ll get you all taken care of!

Orders placed with an international credit card may take up to 3 business days to process.

I'm getting an AVS mismatch error message - what's going on?

AVS stands for address verification system, which is our primary method of billing verification. The best thing to do if you see a mismatch error is to double check what you entered and then verify with your bank to see what they have listed. Unfortunately, some banks in Canada do not support AVS, so when we request that verification from your bank, it comes back as an error — not because the billing address is incorrect, but because the bank simply does not provide that service. If you have another card, we would recommend trying it. Otherwise, we are very sorry and we appreciate your patience as we work towards a solution in the future.

How does your Give a Shave program work?

As a company, Harry’s truly cares about preparing people from all walks of life for success. As we like to say here, we really “give a shave.” We give 1% of our sales and volunteer 1% of our time to organizations, like our current partners City Year and Year Up, that take a holistic approach to personal and professional readiness. We call it Harry’s One Plus One.

Where is the factory you recently purchased?

The factory is in Eisfeld, Germany — nestled between Munich and Frankfurt. It’s in a beautiful region that’s home to some of the best manufacturing and engineering companies in the world.

Can I purchase Harry's products at retail locations?

Yes! We are super excited about our great partnerships with J.Crew, Barney’s, and Nordstrom. Many of their locations across the US and Canada carry our sets. Not all locations do just yet, so we recommend contacting your local stores to check for availability.

One note: Our retail partners are a great place to get started or purchase gifts, but our refill products are only available at harrys.com.

Your factory is in Germany, does that mean you ship internationally?

Harry’s products are currently only available in the US and Canada. We hope to expand abroad in the future.
